This local farm has made a number of environmentally friendly changes to encourage pollinators, nesting birds and small mammals. The farm is also owns an area of wetland adjacent to Pocklington Canal where numerous ducks and wading birds can be spotted.
Our local golf course has begun planting a range of native tree species while keeping older specimens standing in the grounds. This combination of young and old trees provides ideal habitat for birds.
The artificial ponds are also used by spawning frogs and toads during the spring.
