Join Emma Kate Farley, from our Greener Pocklington committee for a short nature walk in Primrose Wood. Sunday 31 May 2026 at 10am.
Emma wrote the new leaflet and boards about the wood and will lead a short walk and talk exploring its history, nature, wildlife and the work that Greener Pocklington has undertaken in the wood.
The talk is free but numbers are limited - please email emmakatefarley@hotmail.com to reserve your space.
The walk will last about 30-45 minutes and there will be a couple of similar evening events in June.

Greener Pocklington are looking for groups from businesses or clubs that would like the occasional volunteering "eco" / community based activities. These will range from hedge planting to weed clearance to good old fashioned balsam bashing. We are completely flexible about group size, time and duration! This can be great fun, great for exercise and team building, while doing something positive and making a difference!

UPDATE - we are delighted that our 2025 Garden Tree Weekend was our biggest ever! Watch this space for news of our event in 2026.
Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025
Greener Pocklington is inviting people to plant a little tree and make a BIG difference to wildlife and wellbeing during its annual Garden Tree Weekend on 8 and 9 November.
The group offers subsidised native tree saplings to plant in gardens of all sizes or nearby green spaces. The trees have been specially selected to provide flowers, fruits and foliage to help insects and wildlife and will create a beautiful feature for your garden.
Trees are fantastic value just £3.50 and must be pre-ordered. You can purchase as few or as many as you like. Pre-ordered trees will then be available for collection from Pocklington on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November.
Emma Farley, Greener Pocklington Committee Member says:
“Planting a tree is a wonderful way to combat climate change whilst also creating vital habitat for insects, birds and other wildlife. Our garden tree weekend also helps us to raise vital funds which go towards planting trees, installing bird and bat boxes and creating wildlife habitats at local schools and community spaces - helping to inspire the next generation.”
For full information about how to pre-order your trees, please email PockTrees@gmail.com
The Greener Pocklington Group aims to combat the climate crisis and habitat loss through active projects within a 10 mile radius of Pocklington. The group gets involved with native tree planting and the creation of wildlife habitats through insect hotels, bird and bat boxes and more.
